Poems and songs are my art. I make them from my heart.. Thus, my creations are works of heart.
I’m a vocalist, lyricist and topliner who brings an R&B/pop style to the table. I like to capture the emotions of love, heartbreak and all the shades in between, with wordplay, poetic phrasing, and fun rhymes. I am attentive to flow, melodies, harmonies and overall vocal arrangement, as they are all an important part of the storytelling to me.
As a very emotional person, I’ve spent a lot of time feeling alone and misunderstood. Writing and music helps me get a lot of these feelings out as well as realize I’m not as alone in them as I might sometimes think. They’re ways for me to simply have some fun too. I also enjoy writing with and for others to help put their feelings into words so they can benefit from a full emotional release.
I’ve loved singing ever since I was a little girl. I’m heavily influenced by 90’s and early to mid 2000’s pop and R&B. What stands out to me in songs are clever and/or meaningful lyrics, emotional vocals, vocal production choices and catchy melodies. To me, there’s nothing like a song that either makes me want to love deeply, or has me wanting to cry my heart out.
I make art because it’s fun, healing and helps me as much as others, but I’m still as much as a consumer as a creator. I love sharing and rambling on about music I love or have newly discovered, which is why I made a space to discuss my interpretations, analysis, or just plain excitement about songs. So if you’re into that too, check out my music blog to get in tune with my musical taste. I’m interested in your thoughts as well if you feel inclined to share them. From time to time, I’ll blog about what I’m working on, how it’s going and things like that too.
I think the best way to get to know me and what I do is to see it for yourself. So I really hope you enjoy what you find here and that you’ll stick around if you do. Thanks so much for stopping by!
